Real Life Stories

Kahawa Media has been blessed with a team of extremely creative people who generate ideas for new ministry products every week. Of course, we do not have the time, resources or people to start a new project every week, and so we ask:

  • What’s the issue?
  • What does the Bible say is the answer?
  • Who’s the audience, and what do they like?
  • Can we make something that will be relevant to the audience, and convey the Biblical answer to this issue?
  • Can it be made affordably?
  • If we made it, could we deploy it in an impactful way?

By answering these questions, we can quickly determine if an idea should go on the board for future consideration. With a lot of prayer, we then determine which new projects to undertake as existing projects move from creation into distribution.

In all of our media products, we strive to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is easily understood by the target audience. Our media products call people to take actions that will bring fruit in the kingdom of God. Evangelism tools invite non-Christians to accept Christ, discipleship tools encourage believers to grow, and missions tools equip churches to spread the good news to the ends of the earth.

Our History

Sig-and-Alexander---Zaire-1988

Over the decades that this ministry has been active in East Africa, we have been called by several different names. Our current name, Kahawa Media, is only the most recent. Looking back at the different names that we’ve had, we can clearly see how God has blessed us at each stage, and how He has expanded our vision and increased the reach of the ministry.

Testimonials

Emmanuel Makolo

LGM Director - Africa

You can call me Manu. I have been involved in outreach ministries since 1995 and have served as an outreach pastor for over ten years. I have been involved with Global Pathway training that is offered by Pamoja Ministries and now Kahawa Media since 2019. Global Pathway is simple and practical for any church to use as a tool to motivate the leadership and congregants to take the good news to all. Many people in Africa think that taking the good news to others is a preserve of the “mzungu” (Swahili: white man). Through Global Pathway, many have seen this error. I have had the privilege of conducting Global Pathway trainings with Jacob Mills and I have seen people realize that they misread scripture and how they depended on man rather than being obedient to God’s command to “go!” It has been a pleasure to serve alongside Kahawa Media and have seen many pastors benefit from their books and other print material like Fimbo ya mchungaji which is "a hot cake" among the local pastors. I would like to thank all the sponsors and supporters of Kahawa Media for being part of God’s work.

Bishop Julius Rukyaa

Chairman, Habari Maalum Media

I’ve been using another thing. It’s incredible. It’s this. It’s the Action Bible… I went through their offices and suddenly I was shown this book and it’s attractive but when you look inside I saw few words but you get the story, and when I got it I went and started working with a guy who’s doing outreach in an underground movement of Muslims and I started to use it. I’ve used it at home, I’ve used it at church, I’ve used it in small groups… So this is an incredible book for students.

Irene Masika

Coordinator, Interchristian Felowship Evangelical Mission

IcEM is partnering with Kahawa Media in doing a Children workers/minister seminar called Teaching God’s Way. We did it in eight areas of Bungoma county and we have equipped participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools:

  • High regard, honor and dignity for the children’s ministry. They now understand that it is service to God himself and opportunity to model Jesus as the master teacher.
  • Some participants received a conviction and a burden for the ministry and hence a challenge to begin. Those already in service were too challenged to improve.
  • The team spirit was cultivated.
  • The workers/ministers realize they are role models to the children and hence challenged to live rightly.
  • They have become active initiators and drivers of their own churches.
  • The workers have become creative in teaching children using object lessons for better understanding and application of God's word.
  • They are able to recycle waste materials for The Kingdom purposes.

Joyce Temu

Deputy Chief Executive Officer,
VisionFund Tanzania

Since VisionFund Tanzania started we were looking for a partner who could help us develop a financial literacy training tool. We got Pamoja Ministries, who did an excellent job in designing a training tool that combines the local context and excellent training material.

Martina Hando

Children’s Ministry Overseer,
TAG Arusha Region

Before I joined, I was afraid of doing children’s ministry, but since I’ve been here they have taught me many things including how to make movies for children. Now my fear is gone so now I’m a teacher of children and an overseer for children’s ministry.

Bishop John Shumbusho

Zion City Church, Arusha
Eastwind Christian Outreaches

We highly recommend them as an effective ministry that helps to raise leaders in Tanzania, and in many other countries, because people who are trained here are not confined to Tanzania alone. In the past year, we had more than 25 nationalities here in this church. The training they got through this partnership is now being effective in other countries. I would like many more people to support this ministry.

Anna Kyungay

Pastor, Patandi Church,
Tanzania Assemblies of God

My husband and I met this ministry many years ago and we partnered in making their film, Nipe Jibu. I was the Grandmother. I love them — it’s a ministry full of my friends! They help those at the top, and it helps those at the bottom a lot. So this ministry meets up with the needs of people — spiritually and physically. I’m really excited in our church ministry, when I see that the teachers are teaching well because it shows me that they are caring for the children. And I rejoice about this ministry.

Maliaki Shaushi

Coordinator, MAPED

They are doing great things in media, and even in Maasailand they have been able to help with their knowledge to lift the ability of the Maasai to understand and they’ve enabled the Maasai to get an education.

Bishop Désiré Songe

Lubumbashi, DRC

Hello people of God. There is a book [The Shepherd’s Staff / La Houlette du Berger] that really consoled me since I read it, also several others who received it were consoled, especially in my region of upper Katanga Mbuji-Mayi. Soon we are going to send it to Kinshasa because of a lot of demand that comes to us from the other side. They are in need of a lot of books. Our English-speaking brothers have a lot of books, and we say thank you to the [World] MAP ministry for having sent us this large library [in one book] which includes all the exegesis, the spiritual, many clear explanations. The Lord Jesus Christ bless everyone that works so that this help is not missing from our place. It is a gift from heaven.
